McALLEN — The city narrowly voted to prohibit amplified outdoor music in the entertainment district downtown — mainly in the 17th Street area — after a long, lively discussion Monday night.
I was doing some key word research and ran into this little nugget. It appears that Google thinks All The Bliss — a Rio Grande Valley Website design group — has been hacked, which means:
…a hacker might have changed some of the existing pages on the site or added new spam pages. If you visit the site, you could be redirected to spam or malware.
Anyway, hacked Websites stink. What could be the reason? If they’re using WordPress, then it can be something as simple as not updating the core files during regular maintenance updates, themes, and/or, plugins. It also can be a brute force attack, or, cookie hijacking…or poor passwords. I mean, maybe even outdated scripts that an attacker exploited.
Either way, it could have easily been prevented. But if the All The Bliss Website was hacked, then all of their customer’s Websites may also be at risk. I can’t say for certain as I haven’t audited any of them. But let’s put it this way, it’s like a home security company’s place of business was broken into and they forgot to set the alarm — or worse, never knew how.
If you want only the finest purveyors of the blues in South Texas, look no further! We have moved the Blues Jam Session to Simon Sez, Wednesday Nights!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Our friends, The Hawk and Omar, came by to jam out with The HardTimes Blues Band (http://goo.gl/71Mvz) at The Cypress Lounge (910 Redwood Ave., McAllen, TX) this past Wednesday!
Come by and have a great time with The HardTimes!
I am pleased to update the local South Texas Blues Scene with news that Johnny Harper’s HardTimes Blues Band has returned to the stage at one of McAllen’s most loved venue, The Cypress Lounge.
While I continue to perform with The Leigh Holles Band – every other week at The Bayou Grill (McAllen) – our roots are deeply embedded with The HardTimes. It’s an institution that purveys only the finest Blues and it’s a blessing/honor/privilege to be part of that fine group of musicians.
I invite all of our friends, both old and new, to come out to Cypress Lounge on Wednesday nights to hang out with us and enjoy a night of South Texas Blues! At the risk of sounding like a commercial – Cypress offers a great place to sit back and enjoy some cold beers with friends – they even have a Bring Your Own Bottle service.
I’ll eventually post a flier that you can pass on to friends, family, and also post on your online networks. Either way, come by Wednesdays – we’ll have fun!
