What Bullets Do to Bodies – The New York Times

I tweeted the following to the writer of the article, What Bullets Do to Bodies – The New York Times:

@DrLeanaWen I disagree with your thesis, that guns are “a public health crisis” and that we “[normalize] tools of total bodily destruction.” Guns have been part of the fabric of our society for survival, both for self-defense from man and nature, and, for food. The majority of gun owners in the USA don’t normalize or cultivate “total body destruction,” we cultivate safety. We, also, don’t need guns to kill our fellow man. We’ve developed swords for the sole purpose of butchering man in combat. Removing a tool for survival and combat doesn’t change the nature of man, which is continual wickedness. TY for your time.
